This is the flag ship model ofAstoria-Pacific’s Industrial market. The system’s versatile 307 digitaldetector is ideal for laboratories (i.e.Oceanography, Tobacco, etc.) that want to test one to six parameters from asingle sample. Using micro-Segmented Flow Analysis, the Astoria Analyzer followsthe modular design layout: 311 XYZ Sampler, 322 Auxiliary Pump (for samplerwash), 302D Micropump (peristaltic pump), 303A Cartridge Base, with room for upto six chemistries*; and 307 Digital Detector. (See Additional Modules for more information about theseunits.)

For the research and development of newmethods, the Astoria Analyzer makes a good platform because the layout of thesystem makes the change-out of cartridges easier, the six channels of the307+307 allow for extra channels that can be used for reference signals, and anoptional detector (fluorometer, UV, and Flame) can be plugged into the systemas an additional channel.

*NOTE: The ability to run sixsimultaneous analyses is dependent on matrix and analyte type.

Compared to other segmented flowanalyzers (SFA), the Astoria’s analysis rates are up to 2X faster thancomparable systems, and only use a tenth amount of reagent.

§ Example 1: A standard SFA may run at 45 – 50 samples perhour and use 450 mL of reagent, while the Astoria will run at 80 – 90 samplesper hour and only use 50 mL of reagent.

The savings on reagents are only a smallpart of what the analyzer will do for your laboratory. Since it uses SFA, theAstoria will attain levels of detection that are equivalent to or even lowerthan other systems.

§ Example 2: Compared to a flow injection system that has apost-distillation cyanide method with a working range of 0.005 – 0.5 mg/L, anAstoria Analyzer beats it by a factor of 10, with a working range of 0.0005 –0.50 mg/L as CN (PN 305-A111-A01).

Although discrete analyzers have made asignificant impact in environmental testing, the Astoria Analyzer offers avariety of techniques that have made SFA so powerful in the past, present andfuture to come:

§ In-Line Dialysis can remove interferences like matrixeffects, utilize gas diffusion techniques for Ammonia to eliminate distillationsteps, and can be used like a dilution loop

§ In-Line Distillation and In-Line UV Digestion are optionsallowing customers to quickly analyze Phenol, Cyanide and TDN that wouldotherwise require additional sample prep
